The Habit Burger Grill Fundraiser is a Success!

The leadership of the Sacramento PRSSA Chapter would like to thank everyone who participated in yesterday's fundraiser at The Habit Burger Grill.

Although the official numbers are not yet available, from the number of customers in attendance, to how hard PRSSA members worked to promote the event, the results are looking bright.

(EDIT: we raised over 200 dollars, thank you to everyone who attended and helped promote this event!)

Fundraiser - The Habit Burger Grill

The Sacramento PRSSA Chapter is proud to announce that is has partnered with local restaurant The Habit Burger Grill to raise money for the upcoming GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES: Media Relations & the PR Profession regional activity.

Visit The Habit Burger Grill, located at 1431 Howe Ave., Monday March 23rd and join us for good times, and great food. The Habit Burger is known most for their delicious charburgers and sandwiches. Their menu also includes fries, shakes and salads.

We would greatly appreciate your support! All you need to do is print out the flyer below and present it to your cashier and our organization will receive 20% of your purchase! This is an excellent opportunity to not only support local businesses but a local organization as well.

Students of Sacramento State and PRSSA are planning a regional activity April 25, titled GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES: Media Relations & the PR Profession. We encourage everyone who is interested to attend. As we approach the event, registration forms will be made available for all of those interested!

Welcome to the Golden Opportunities 2009 Blog


Welcome everyone, this is the official blog for GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES: Media Relations & the PR Profession, an exciting event to be held in Sacramento, CA at the Citizens Hotel on April 25th, 2009.

This exciting Regional Activity is being planned by the students in Professor Howard's ComS 158: Public Relations Planning and Management class. These students, as well as those in Coms 199: Special problems, are working together to make this activity a success.

We would like to take the time to introduce you to our upcoming Regional Activity, but first, what is a Regional Activity?

Regional Activities are planned, staffed and hosted by local PRSSA chapters, these activities contain a great variety of events that allows attendees to improve their networks, skills and abilities. Whether planning or attending a regional activity, one can be sure he/she are tapping a valuable resource.

So what is happening in 2009? This year, the Sacramento State PRSSA Chapter
is planning the GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES: Media Relations & the PR Profession regional activity. This event will highlight the opportunities found within and around our great state of California. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in professional and chapter development workshops, regional career fairs, chapter leadership round tables and PRSA/PRSSA socials.
